Upstarts Tournament

There was a 3 way tie for 1st place with 4 1/2 wins – Dante Jannicelli, Joan Wendell, and Kurt Kelley.  AND, there was a 6 way tie for 2nd place with 4 wins – Hart Sissingh, Rita Rush, Stephen Baron, Ray Wertz, Tom O’Conner, and Antoine Pirson. (not shown)

There was a 4-way tie for first place with 5 wins: Hart Sissingh, Dale Wallace, Karen Wallace, and Jim Mac Williams. Also had a 5-way tie for second place with 4 wins: John Labosky, Ray Wertz, Joan Wendell, Dante Jannicelli. and Bob Parks (not pictured).

Joan Wendell won 1st place with 5 1/2 games.  There was a 6 way tie for 2nd place with 4 wins – Bob Andersen, Greg Petrello, Karen Wallace, Jim Mac Williams, Ray Wertz, and Tom O’ Connor.

There was a 3 way tie for 1st place with 5 wins – Bob Andersen, Jim Mac Williams, and Kurt Kelley.  Congrats!!  (Kurt pocketed the 9 Ball on the break for one game!  Way to go Kurt!!)  Cathy Goebel won 2nd place with 4 1/2 wins.  Congrats to Cathy! 

There was a 4 way tie for 1st place with 5 wins – Jim Mac Williams, Pete von Savoye, Jim Meyer, and Joan Wendell.  There was a 5 way tie for 2nd place with 4 wins – Hart Sissingh, Bob Wehner, Dante Jannicelli, Gary Nielsen, and Ed Cadger (not shown).  

There was a tie for 1st place with 5 wins – Dante Jannicelli, Ray Wertz, and Joan Wendell. Dan Lehrer won 2nd place with 4 1/2 wins.

Henry Williams (not pictured) took first place with 5 wins. Second place with 4 wins were Bob Parks, Greg Petrello, Dale Wallace, Ray Wertz, and Dante Jannicelli. Also in second place, but not pictured, were Antoine Pirson and Doug Rowe.

There was a 2 way tie for 1st place – Antoine Pirson and Joan Wendell.  There was a 7 way tie for 2nd place with 4 wins!!! Bob Wehner, Dante Jannicelli, Karen Wallace, Cathy Goebel, myself (Rita), Bob Boekel, and Bob Andersen (not shown).

We had one player in 1st place with 6 wins – Congratulations Doug Rowe.  There was a 2 way tie for 2nd place with 5 wins – Pete von Savoye and Phil Keller (not shown)

The first-place winner was Joan Wendell with 6 wins. Second place was shared by Antoine Pirson and Karen Wallace with 5 wins each.

There was a 2 way tie for 1st place with 5 wins – Frank Westphal and Mel Gillette.  Congratulations! There was a 3 way tie for 2nd place with 4 1/2 wins – Pete von Savoye, Dale Wallace, and Ray Wertz.  

We had 20 players today and played straight 8.  There was a 2 way tie for 1st place with 5 wins – Pete von Savoye and Jim Boekel.  Congratulations!  There was a 4 way tie for 2nd place with 4 wins – Bob Wehner, Frank Westphal, Randy Fann, and Dante Jannicelli.  Congrats to you!

Next week I will be out of town, and my most capable and well paid assistant, Dante will be in charge.  We will be playing 8 Ball again.

We had 21 players competing in our 8-ball tournament today. Dale Wallace took first place with 6 wins, and second place was shared by Jim MacWilliams and myself.

Thanks to all who played today. Rita will return next week and we will be playing 9-BALL.

We played 9 Ball since it was the last Thursday of the month.  I am considering playing this more often since everyone seemed to really be enjoying it!  There was a tie for 1st place with 6 wins – Frank Westphal and Dante Jannicelli.  Way to Go!  2nd place went to Ed Cadger with 5 wins!  Great job Ed!

We had some close matches, and here are the winners:  Pete von Savoye and Joan Wendell tied for 1st place with 5 wins.  Congrats!!

 There were 7 players tied for 2nd place with 4 wins. Congrats!!

 Not everyone stayed to be included in the picture. Winners were Doug Rowe, Karen Wallace, Dan Lehrer, Ray Wertz, (not pictured) Walter W., Ed Cadger, and Rita Baikauskas.
