Type of Games Played
Straight 8 ball will be played. Play six games at 17 minutes per game.
Date and Time
Every Tuesday (except holidays) at Kilaga. Room is reserved from 12:45 PM to 3:00 PM. Play will start at 1:00 PM.

Beginners to intermediate
Sign-up Procedure
Sign up 12:45 PM. Play begins at 1:00 PM. The Tournament Leader, or backup, calls the player numbers for each table assignment.
Tournament Rules
American Pool players Association (APA) rules will be followed. Teams lag for break. After the lag, players will wait to break until after all tables have completed their lag and the Tournament Leader calls for everyone to break. Four balls must hit a rail on the break. If not, the opposing team shoots from the kitchen. If the cue ball scratchs on the break, the opposing player will initiate play with a ball in hand from the kitchen.
If a ball is pocketed on the break, the table is still open and assignment of solids or stripes will be determined by whichever team pockets the first legal ball after the break.
When time is called and the player is in the shooting position, the shot may be completed. If the player stands back up when time is called, the play is over.
If time runs out before the game has been completed, the winner will be the player/team with the fewest balls remaining. If each team has the same number of balls remaining on the table, then the game is declared a tie. The tie is equal to ½ point on the final score sheet.
Winners of the game will accurately mark the win/loss results (T for a tie) on the scoresheet. Losers will rack the balls for the next round. At the end of the sixth game, losers will return chalk to the chalk boxes at either end of the room and return balls to the Activities Desk.
Recognition
At the end of sixth game, using the scoresheet, the Tournament Leader calculates the tournament winners for 1st and 2nd place, takes a photo of the winners, and then emails or texts that along with the number of participants and the full names of winners to the Webmaster and Vice President.
