Do I have any physical handicaps that I have to take into consideration?
My size, body, legs, feet, arms, and hands affect every aspect of my playing effectiveness.
How good is my vision? Do I wear contact lens or glasses?
Optometrists can provide glass frames that provide better vision when you are bending over a pool table.
Do I take medications that affect my endurance, concentration, or ability to execute a wide variety of body positions and shots?
Am I left or right handed?
Am I left or right eye dominant?
Do I play pool because I enjoy the game itself … being with other players, the competition they provide, and who challenge me to play better?
Am I willing to put time and effort in to play better, making the game more enjoyable?
Players at ALL skill levels have good and bad days, finding satisfaction and frustration. The important thing is to learn what went wrong and what went right, and practice shots and situations to reinforce better options the next time they occur. There are a multitude of books and DVDs available on the Internet. Highly skilled players can be watched on U-Tube, or visiting large Billiard Room Tournaments. Personal hands-on instruction by qualified players is also available. Getting advise from most other players is not a good idea.
