Rack-N-Roll Tournament

Rack-N-Roll Tournament (3/16/22)

Type of Games Played
Straight 8-Ball or 8-Ball with the 1 & 15 balls played into the side pockets or straight 9-ball. The 8-ball and 9-ball are the only balls required to have the pocket called. As a general rule, if there are more than 12 players, the game will be straight 8-ball or 9-ball. The type of game to be played will be announced by the Tournament Leader before the tournament starts.

Date and Time
Mondays 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM. (Warm up starts at 1:30 PM). Play starts at 2:00 PM.

Player Level
Mid-level and Advanced

Sign-up Procedure
Upon arrival and before start of play, players sign up and pay the entry fee. At the same time, the players will shake the “tally bottle” to obtain a “numbered pea” which will be their assigned player number. The Tournament Leader, or player, will then print their name on the tournament scoring sheet next to the number they drew.

Tournament Rules
The Tournament follows the American Pool Players Association (APA) rules. The players will lag to see who wins the right to break. After the break, we use an exception to the APA rules. If one or more balls are made on the break, the table is still considered open, and the breaking player has their choice. The table remains open until another ball is pocketed. The players will then play the type of game announced before start of play. The winner of the game will report the results by stating the winning player’s number and on which table the game was played (ex: player 2 on table 6 or 2 on 6) to the Tournament Leader who will update the scoring sheet. The loser will rack the balls for the next round of games.

Entry Fee
Entry fee is $2.00 and 100% of the fee will be returned to the players as a prize, reward, or cash equivalent. First place will receive 60% and second place will receive 40%.

Recognition
At the end of the Tournament, the Tournament Leader calculates the winners for 1st and 2nd place. Tournament Leader gives each their prize and takes their photo. In the event of ties, a decision to either have a play-off or to split the prize money evenly will be determined by the players and Tournament Leader. An informational email with the photo of the winners will be sent out to the Rack-N-Roll Billiards Group and selected members of the LHBG Board.
